Apon the rolling waters of the sea
My mind began to play games with me.
With each wave came a voice so clear
calling, begging, tempting me near.
Fighting I struggled, breaking free
but the voice still sang vibrantly.
The words were odd, almost like a spell,
as they drifted to compel.
Twisting from my soul I battled with it all.
"Come to me my dear child, bring to me your love" came the call.
As I was told, I took a step, then another,
as though it were the words of my mother.
I could hear the warmth, the welcome, the love
Deep within the Song of the Dove.
The Voice called once more
drawing me from the shore.
There on the edge of the waters break
I took the last step I would ever take.
In to the arms of the Ocean I lept
A forgotten promise now kept.
To the Sea I went
to the Depths I was sent
The waves began to rumble
and slowly I began to tumble.
Down in to Her Embrace
I fell with wanted grace.
Into her loving arms I will Fall
Because I listened, I heeded Mother Sea'

hibbary wrote a terrific article called Thinking in 3D that I highly recommend everyone who want to improove on their artworks to read - its content very much applies to how you have to think when it comes to painting light. Light is three dimensional, it moves and bounces and hits shapes at various angles depending on where it comes from. If you do not think about this in a three dimensional room, your will not be able to grasp the idea of light and how to put it into a picture. In a way you migth say that the key to understanding light and putting it into your paintings, is to think in 3D.
